Federica Bianchi di Casalanza (Austrian, German, Italian, b. 2001) is an archivist, photographer, and arts professional. Her work explores artisanal traditions, interior spaces, and the visual language of craftsmanship. Raised between Venice and Vienna, she grew up in environments steeped in artisanal practices and architectural design. A graduate of Goldsmiths, University of London, her research focused on Photographic Representations of Women on Vogue Covers, reflecting her fascination with the intersection of photography, fashion, and cultural narratives.
Bianchi began her career at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London (2020), where she contributed to research on photographers such as Horst P. Horst and Cecil Beaton. She has worked with leading auction houses, including Christie’s (2019), Phillips (2021–22), and Dorotheum (2022–24), as well as Photo London (2023–24), where she curated VIP events.
Now based in New York City, Bianchi manages the archive of renowned photographer Eric Boman alongside his partner, artist Peter Schlesinger, overseeing his legacy from their Manhattan apartment while collaborating on major book publications and exhibitions with cultural institutions and publishers, including New York Magazine and Thames & Hudson. Alongside this, she is pursuing documentary journalism and visual storytelling at the International Center of Photography (ICP).
